1. Introduction

Folyo (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our application. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Site, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Data

We use Clerk for secure authentication. When you sign up, we may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and profile image. This data is managed securely by Clerk and is used solely for account management and identification.

Financial Data

To provide portfolio tracking features, we may collect or process financial data such as:

  • Brokerage account details (via official integrations or manual CSV uploads).
  • Transaction history and holdings data.
  • Portfolio performance metrics.

We do not sell this data. It is used exclusively to provide you with the analytics and dashboard features of the application.

3. Portfolio Snapshots and Cloud Sync

Folyo stores a last-known portfolio snapshot in your browser to provide faster loading and continuity on that device. Browser-local storage is not uploaded merely because you open or revisit the portfolio.

Cloud portfolio sync is optional and disabled by default. If you enable it, Folyo stores the latest successful holdings and positions snapshot for each connected broker account so it can be used across your signed-in devices. Cloud snapshots are encrypted in transit and at rest, do not include broker credentials, and expire after 30 days without a newer snapshot.

Sidekick portfolio access is a separate choice. Portfolio sharing is initiated separately for named recipients. Turning off cloud sync removes the cloud snapshot and pauses active portfolio links; deleting cloud data also revokes those links. Local browser snapshots can be cleared independently from Privacy & data settings.

4. Use of Your Information

We use the information we collect or receive:

  • To facilitate account creation and logon processes.
  • To provide and manage your portfolio dashboard.
  • To improve user experience and analyze usage patterns via PostHog analytics.
  • To send you administrative information, such as product updates or security alerts.
  • To protect our Services and for legal compliance.

5. Third-Party Tools and Analytics

We use third-party services to improve our platform:

  • Clerk: For identity verification and authentication management.

  • PostHog: For product analytics to understand how users interact with our application. We use this data to optimize features and fix bugs. PostHog may capture data such as device type, browser version, and pages visited.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
